Adoration: Dividing the Veil of Christmas

There’s a song by the Newsboys called “Adoration” that cuts to the chase or divides the veil of all the Christmas hype. It needs to be listened to at least during the Christmas season.  It paints a loving, personal,worship-filled picture of the nativity.

Now that’s my idea of a Christmas song!  There’s the baby who is every ounce a bouncing baby boy who is at the very same time God.  What else can we give Him but adoration? That’s the perfect word.  We love Him because He first loved us.  He is Emmanuel: God with us.  We love Him because he is a precious little baby.  As we adore Him, he reaches out and grabs our finger and never let’s go. That’s Good News.  He never let’s go of those who come to Him, be they simple like the shepherds or sophisticated intellectuals like the wise men or any of the rest of us who fall somewhere in between. Who ever believes in Him [will] not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Behind the hype, before the commercialism, through the veil of the all of our traditions, there is Jesus who is Christ the Lord.

Amen and Merry Christmas,

Christopher
